I talked to Bernard today about it, and he might be able to open up next week for testing as well, but of course it's all up to him and how available the track is. I wouldn't mind having something like a pre-meet gathering at Blue Max next Friday, though! _________________ -Nestor

You need to give him a call first to let him know you're coming out. _________________ -Nestor

He was around today. Karts are still in "testing" phase so no rental fees, although I threw bernhard a few bucks for gas last time. He has 6 karts onsite currently. Maybe some of you more computer/technology savvy people can help him get his timing system setup in return for some laps. _________________ I drive a hon-duh |

Guys, I thought I knew who Bernhard was. He got the outdoor kart track in NM going. This is the best guy to do a rental kart track. I went out today and ran laps with him, he's also a great driver, we had a blast racing each other. It will be the only place to go to do rental karts, so spread the word once he starts offering it.
$20 for Bernhard is 100 times better than $22 to RPM!!

Agreed. Plus you won't get gassed by the fumes from those karts at an indoor track.
What's NM? New Mexico? _________________

Bernard is a nice guy, I've met him. I think his rates are kinda steep but still better than RPM. His carts are nice and the track is fun.
On another note, Bernard looks alot like Dr. Z when he grows his mustache out... :p |

Not to mention no more driving all the way out to Sacramento!
I imagine we can probably work out a nice deal for DMC members who want to go karting at Blue Max, stay tuned! _________________ -Nestor

Well you better start doing that now. Bernhard has been in Davis for a year waiting for clearance from the city and the last time he talked to someone there they said "We no longer support that", whatever the hell that means. He now in negotiations with the track in Dixon, which by the way, is much nice, has new pavement, etc. _________________

It is amazing how vague the city is being with him. I've been to all the board meetings since Bernard has come and it is amazing how patient he has been, it would be a shame to lose him at the davis track as i have enjoyed his company, plus dixon is a nice track but it is WAY to wide open with only one corner with hard braking, Blue max would be a great fit for him.
ps.... the bumpy downhill sweeper may be paved in time for the Gold Rush Race _________________ Sean W 51
