im planning on getting a limited slip soon and was wondering who had experience installing.

i am asking here because i do not wish to be ripped off by ford.

but i am also not looking for a freebie.

are you referring to installing the limited slip unit into the pumpkin? or just the whole diff assembly/carrier into the car?

thats pretty in-depth... pumpkin transfer i could do for you, but installing the unit into the pumpkin is the hard part

Maybe the guys at Evil Genius can get it together for you.
That is something that I think not too many people are capable of... well at least not in their own garage.

if you have a press yes.Theres a transmission shop here in vacaville that will probably charge you under $100 to put it together.

as for installing the entire unit you can do that in a day

what kit did you get?
did you get the rebuild kit also?
I have had 4 gt stangs, so far a 68, 90,96,01...
I have a 75 Bronco I have been building in my garage for awhile.
I have some use around FORDS......
what spline lsd did you get? is it for the current or the 8.8?
Shims, Gear Dye, and BEER....

But if you would rather have a shop do your work...I used GEAR ONE here if Vacaville for swaping out a rock crawler gear set in my Dana 20 Transfer case and to mill down my output shaft housing to put in a 35% larger 4340 alloy shaft.....For your swap..maybe $300 ?????From the shop here.
